100g (3½ oz) grated cheddar cheese
125g (4½ oz) breadcrumbs
1 egg
1 cup milk
Salt and pepper to taste
In an ovenproof dish, alternate layers of breadcrumbs and cheese. Beat together the egg milk and seasoning and pour this over the bread and cheese. Bake 30 mins at 180°C (356°F Gas mark 4).
